Wind

Strong winds: what kind of damage?
  • Small limbs down.
  • Limbs 1" - 3" down.
  • Small trees down.
  • Large trees down.
  • Weak buildings and trailers destroyed.
  • Homes destroyed.
  • Measured sustained speed:____.
  • Measured gust:____.

Cloud Formation

  • Look for formations beneath the base of the cloud.
  • Watch what the cloud formation is doing higher up.
  • Look for rotation in the clouds.
  • Multi-cell - Ordinary storms with low severe threat.
  • Squall line - Line of storms with moderate wind threat.
  • Mini Super-cell - Small storm with rotating updraft.
  • Classic Super-cell - Rotating updraft with high severe threat.
  • Tornado

Rain/Flooding

  • Rain - 1" or more per hour.
  • Total Rainfall:____.
  • Streams out of their banks.
  • Pooling of water in streets.
  • Water standing curb to curb.
  • Flash floods occurring.
  • Flooding - roads impassable.
  • Flooding - evacuation in progress.
