interested in learning about severe weather spotting. Throughout Ontario, these sessions are held at various locations in our communities and generally last for three hours.
Even if you have attended a session in previous years, a refresher course is helpful going into the new storm season. Environment Canada also tries to add new information to the presentation each year.
CanWarn training is open to all members of the public, a HAM radio licence is not required. Those interested parties who attend the training session will receive weather spotting training, information on how to make a report, as well as a CanWarn ID number which will be used when calling in reports.
